We would like to work with members of our community who are engaged in hunger relief, nutritional education and culinary professional development. Our focus is on food-based charities.
We recognize that we cannot help everyone, but we will endeavor to support what we know—food! Our capacity to share may include our restaurant, our farm or direct support.

Mercer Street Friends
Mercer Street Friends is a human care organization that has been providing compassionate and practical solutions to the problems of poverty and health in the Greater Trenton area since 1958. Their Food Bank supplies over 2.5 million pounds of food each year to more than 60 organizations in Mercer County that feed over 25,000 people at risk for hunger. Their Send Hunger Packing Program provides nearly 600 children (250 children in Princeton and another 340 in Ewing, Lawrenceville and Trenton) with backpacks full of nutritious food to tide them over weekends and school breaks when they have no access to school breakfast and lunch programs and would otherwise go hungry.
Agricola is donating cash resources to MSF in support of their send hunger packing and general programming. Each October, Agricola donates $1 for every bowl of soup sold. Agricola also participated at Mercer Street Friends’ Gala – “A Taste-Full Evening” which was a huge success, raising over $72,000. The money raised will support Mercer Street Friends as they serve the community through their many programs and their Food Bank.
Garden State on Your Plate, Princeton School Garden Co-op
The farm-to-school program brings fresh produce and products from local farms into schools’ cafeterias. The program is designed to feed the students’ needs for fresh food and to begin to link for them the food they eat to the Garden State and to the larger world. Further, it forges new bonds between schools, the community and local farmers. The Princeton School Gardens Cooperative fosters garden- and food-based education in the classroom, cafeteria and community.
Agricola and Great Road Farm participate sponsoring a tasting in each school with Chef Crawford Koeniger and Farmer Steve Tomlinson demonstrating and introducing the school children to vegetables grown at Great Road Farm.
